As a Cluster Director of Sales, specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Supervise the daily performance of the Sales office and manage the active conversion of customer enquiries into confirmed sales to develop future and repeat business contributing to the profitability of the hotels. Ensure all relevant checklists/responsibilities of the Sales team are completed to the appropriate standard and in a timely manner.
- Maximize revenue for the hotels through pro-active selling and commercial management techniques.
- Ensure effective information-gathering and analysis is conducted in order to identify and maximize on all possible opportunities and minimize any risks.
- Interact with other departments and functions to ensure we exceed our customers’, owners’ and shareholders’ expectations.
- Prepare company contracts for the hotels in accordance with current business and pricing conditions.
- Monitor offers, options and discounts for repeat bookings for groups, congresses and seminars in close cooperation with the sales team.
- Develop the sales team through leadership and by example to include sales development; participate in the hiring of team members, and their future success.
- Direct and manage the forecasting process in conjunction with the Revenue Department to insure accurate, timely and complete information. Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department.
- Actively participate and complete the preparation of the annual Sales and Market Plan, quarterly updates, and the complexed hotels' annual Budgets. Execute initiatives as outlined; swiftly implement strategies/tactics to offset changes in markets, economy or driven by the competitive set. Organize and/or attend scheduled group and related meetings.
- Contribute to the development of company sales and marketing initiatives by recommending, implementing and monitoring appropriate local activity.
- Organize comprehensive information describing the range of products and services offered by the hotel and deliver this information through relevant sales resources and sales channels to existing and potential guests.
- Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the hotels
- Prepare and present, on a monthly basis, the contribution, focus and activity of the proactive sales team to senior management team.
- Cooperate with other departments in the hotels to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs.
- Participate in Daily commercial meetings, Weekly Business Focus Meetings and Weekly Group Review Meetings to ensure an effective selling strategy is adopted and reviewed.
- Obtain full knowledge of Competitors’ products to understand the market place
- Create a working environment that supports organizational and brand values, where team members are motivated and trained to their full potential.

- Recruitment, training, development and assessment of the team to meet business needs.
- Ensure all enquiries are dealt with promptly, in line with company standards
- Ensure accuracy of all bookings – standard contracts signed and clear billing details received
- Ensure accurate and up to date customer records are maintained
- Manage customer satisfaction post event and resolve any outstanding issues and secure future sales leads
- Oversee all reservations administration tasks carried out by the team.
- Ensure reservations are accurate and quality checked in line with company standards
- Feed ideas and suggestions into the commercial management team to strive for constant improvement of operating procedures.
- Maximize bedroom, conference and event sales revenue and profit through pro-active selling techniques and commercial management techniques.
- Ensure all enquiries and customer requests, including traces, are dealt with promptly, in a friendly manner and in line with company standards.
- Actively seek feedback from customers on a regular basis and manage customer satisfaction post event and resolve any outstanding issues and secure future sales leads.
- Manage the Meet & Greet of clients during their event
- Develop positive business relationships and be able to ‘close’ a sale
- Creating an environment where everyone sells, including other Hilton Properties
- Be actively involved in the creation and implementation of the hotels sales plan
