Yıldız Gemi's exiting and planned infrastructure and human resources, as well as its production output to date, have allowed the yard to bid seriously for contracts for the construction of both large motoryachts and sailing yachts as well as commercial / military new buildings.

Yıldız Gemi A.Ş. has 180 full-time employes. Many are professional engineers specializing in Cad-Cam (design), planning mechanical design, quality control, production engineering.

Company Backround

Yıldız Gemi ve Makine San.Tic.A.Ş. started its activity in 1975 at its present location in the Tuzla Bay shipyard area of Istanbul. The yard's activity consisted of the construction of various sized vessels until 1988 when the Italian yacht designer and builder, Fabio Perini, recognised the industrious potential available in Turkey and a new re-structturing programme for the yard was initiated. The result of the injection of foreign capital, by the yard's principal partner, has been the transformation of the little more than 40.000 square meters of water front mud into what

may now be considered as one of the numbered yards in the Mediterranean Basin.

Present Shipyard Facilities and Area

The yacht construction facility consists of 5450sq.m of covered Prefabrication and Erection Sheds, 1600 sq.m of covered workshops, a 1944 sq.m Aluminium Prefabrication & Stock Shad, a 100m slipway with a 55m extention underwater, 864 sq.m of high quality personnel facilities and 1300sq.m of Office and Loadging space. The remaining area has been given over to access roads, a plate stockyard, future expansion and even 8000 sq.m of freshly mowed lawns. The development of the yard's human resources has, however, been more grodual in order to instil and maintain the notion of the quality of workmanship required for luxury yacht construction. A further advantage has been the gradually increasing numbers of highly trained workers and white collar staff returning to Turkey following extented work experiences in German shipyards. Yıldız Gemi has been able to attract such quality personnel given its unique structure.Steel, aliminium and Outfit workers make up 67% of the total workforce with the reminder divided equally between Management and Service activities. The yard's production output to date has consisted of sailing yachts bound for export 23 number of yachts built in our shipyard are listed with years on attached page.
